Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Acts (“we,” “us”) is operated by Andrew Hyun. This policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Acts mobile app.
Information we collect
- Account data: email, username, name, phone (optional), date of birth, profile photo, and settings you provide.
- App activity: tasks you complete, streaks, seeds and lifetime XP, shop purchases made with in-app seeds, and achievements.
- Social content: deed feed posts (photos and captions), reactions, and comments if you use those features.
- Friends: friend connections and friend requests.
- Contacts (optional): if you choose “Find friends from contacts,” we read contact names on your device to suggest people already on Acts. We do not upload your full address book to our servers for permanent storage.
- Device permissions: camera and photo library when you add profile or task photos; notifications if you enable reminders.
- Diagnostics: if the app crashes or hits an error, we collect crash reports and basic device and diagnostic information, along with your account ID, to find and fix problems.
How we use information
We use your information to operate Acts, personalize suggested acts, show your profile and feed to friends according to your privacy settings, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage) to host accounts and data, and Sentry for crash and error reporting. These providers process data on our behalf under their terms and privacy policies.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Content you share to the deed feed is visible to friends per your settings. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect safety.
Your choices
- Update profile and privacy settings in the app.
- Block users and report posts you do not want to see.
- Delete your account in Settings → Account (this removes your Acts profile and associated data we control).
Children
Acts is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use industry-standard measures through Firebase and HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new date at the top of this page.
